Betting Against Our Children's Lives:
The Impact of Privatized and Publicly Traded Prisons on Young Black Males
Part III of William R. Patterson's series, "Black America is on an Economic Titanic. Will You Survive?"
As many prison stocks have performed well in 2007 and are projecting strong growth for the future, William discuses the questionable ethics of creating and encouraging investment in for-profit prisons when there is a disproportionate amount of African-Americans in the U.S. criminal justice system. African-Americans comprise 13 percent of the national population, but 30 percent of people arrested, 41 percent of people in jail, and 49 percent of those in prison.
Also, considering a publicly traded company's chief objective is to achieve growth and generate returns for shareholders, William addresses the conflict of interest that privatized prisons have in helping to "reform" inmates when the lion's share of their income is based on how many individuals they house.

As the answer to widespread joblessness, high dropout, and incarceration rates dooming the African-American community, William offers THE BARON SOLUTION for Education and Vocational Training Reform. The Baron Solution Group currently offers a training curriculum for children in grades K-12 and college students as well as for parents who want to teach their children the proper mindset for building wealth and fundamental financial and entrepreneurial skills which are not taught in schools.
